The Lee 90049 Lube and Size Kit provides a practical solution for lubricating and sizing cast bullets during reloading. Designed for .224 caliber cast bullets, this kit helps prepare projectiles for consistent seating and improved performance. It is intended for use with single-stage presses and features a standard 7/8"-14 threaded sizer die for broad compatibility with suitable reloading equipment.
Bullets are pushed through the sizing die nose first, eliminating the need for special nose punches. The included push-through punch replaces the shell holder in the press ram, while a dedicated container captures the sized bullets for convenient handling. The kit can also be used to seat and crimp gas checks, making it a versatile addition to a cast-bullet loading setup. For proper sizing, select a kit that is .001" larger than the firearm's groove diameter.
Each Lee 90049 kit includes a sizer box, sizer punch, sizer die, and instructions. The steel components feature a silver finish and are built for repeated use in single-stage reloading applications. Lee Liquid Alox and the reloading press are sold separately, allowing reloaders to select the lubrication and press equipment that best fits their process.
